Large Tomado Teak floor rack Design: D. Dekker
During the fifties, Tomado developed this quite rare floor unit. Besides the famous Rietveld-like colored metal shelving units, it was also possible to order teak-veneer shelves, called ‘Afro-teak’, inspired by the Skandinavian examples designed by Nisse Strinning.
Very practical design, easy to replace in your home and build up in many ways; 4 black ladders with 9 shelves, with one deeper and one magazine rack. Very stable system thanks to the metal wiring strucure. This original old production Tomado shelving unit is probably one of the most symbolic European post-war designs.
Good overall condition.
W195 × d29 × × H84cm
with large shelf depth 40 cm
